Meet your trainer
Helping dogs and their owners build better communication, confidence, and lasting results.

Hi! I'm Kim, owner and head trainer of Balanced Companions Dog Training.

With over 10 years of professional experience working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments, my passion has always been helping owners build stronger relationships with their dogs through clear communication, consistency, and realistic expectations.

Throughout my career, I've worked in veterinary medicine, boarding facilities, professional dog training facilities, giving me experience with everything from young puppies learning the basics to dogs struggling with behavioral challenges like leash reactivity, anxiety, poor impulse control, and household manners.

At Balanced Companions Dog Training, I believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach. Every dog is different, which is why every training program is customized to fit the individual dog, their family, and their goals.

My balanced training philosophy focuses on teaching dogs what we want before holding them accountable for what they already understand. We use motivation, structure, praise, food, play, and appropriate training tools when necessary to create reliable, confident dogs that can succeed in the real world—not just during a training session.

Whether we're working in your home, at our training facility, or out in public, my goal is always the same:

To help you create a dog you can confidently enjoy as part of your everyday life.
